As your child moves closer to high school graduation and begins to search for colleges/universities, you may become overwhelmed by the price tag.  You are not alone.  It's no secret that the price of attending college expensive and seems to be rising.  There is money out there to help make college more affordable.  The links below will help you find money through grants, scholarships and loans, and help you determine the differences between them..  If you have specific questions about financial aid, refer to the financial aid department at your college of interest. Financial aid officers at colleges can explain their specific requirements and deadlines.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the official web site for the FAFSA.  In order to qualify for mone through FAFSA families need complete this form. The window for this service opens at the beginning of October.
 
 
FAFSA4caster : This will direct you to the FAFSA4caster, which is an online tool to help you and your family prepare financially for college before officially applying for federal student aid.  It provides an estimate of federal student aid eligibility by instantly calculating an estimated family contribution.
 

 

PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency) has a mission to create access to higher education.  They provide resources like scholarships, grants, loan forgiveness programs and many other services to help make the cost of higher education within reach.
 
Scholarship Lists- We receive many local scholarships opportunities from many different local businesses and companies throughout the county.  Starting in October all scholarships will be listed below.  Please encourage your child to look at each scholarship opportunity and apply to those that are applicable to them.  You and your child can also look at the specific colleges and universties that you are interested in to search what scholarship opportunities they have available.
